The goal of the Rogers Diet is to help you to lose weight and not be hungry in a way that is healthy and pleasant and that can be maintained long term.

          We emphasize how to choose healthy foods that promote an ideal bodyweight and how to avoid unhealthy foods that cause weight gain.

The key to weight loss is understanding how to satisfy hunger with a smaller amount of overall calories. We are not going to try to defeat our hunger by willpower, because this is almost impossible to do. We are going to learn to work with our hunger. Learning this will help you to achieve a your ideal bodyweight.

You do not need to count calories.

You just need to eat healthy foods and to avoid unhealthy foods.

One can make an analogy to a car. If you have just bought a new car and the owner’s manual recommends premium gas.  You will pay extra for the premium gas because your car will run better and last longer. You would not give your car "junk gas, who knows what this is gas" etc. Because you wouldn't want to clog up the pipes and mess up your car. Well, the "pipes", in the human machine that is your body, are called blood vessels.

     The human body is like a machine with the heart =pump, brain = computer, arms/legs = mobility system and blood vessels = pipes.

     Good foods such as those described in the audio CD and DVD have the following benefits:     

  1. Help a person to obtain ideal bodyweight

  2. Lower cholesterol

  3. Decreased risk of male impotence, stroke, heart attack, diabetes and vascular dementia.

  4. In women additional benefits include decreased risk of breast cancer and endometrial cancer.

The HUMAN BODY when given a healthy diet is more likely to function well and last 80 years, instead of being hindered by obesity, impotence, diabetes, stroke, cancer, heart attack etc. and lasting only around 50-60 years. You can always buy a new car. You cannot get another body.

How to follow your weight

Weigh yourself before starting the diet and then once a month on a Saturday morning after voiding. Write the initial number down on a calendar so that you can refer to it later.

Well Being

Eating better will help you to feel better. When your weight improves you will have better control of previous problem eating habits such as too much simple sugars, fats and caffiene. You will feel better in general and eating better will help you towards lowering your total cholesterol to a healthy level. Ideal total cholesterol is less than 150. This recommendation is based on the Framingham study
